Ah, yes. Finally, I have another element added to my Genshin bros collection *o* I was quite surprised when I found out Dendro of all other elements had hit the needed threshold of four testosterone-filled characters. I was really hoping for Cryo (definitely not so I could draw Kaeya again). Kaveh was the easiest one for me to draw. Which is good cuz he's my personal bias out of all of them heh. I actually haven't played the game in a few months now, but I was really close to playing it again seeing the Kaveh leaks. Alas, even he wasn't enough to convince me back into the game. Still love their designs, though <3 The one that gave me the most grief is Tighnari. It wasn't because he was particularly hard to draw, it was more grieving over the fact that his charm was going to be MASSIVE since his ears are so long. I usually try to fit everything within certain dimensions to make sure every charm's the same size. It took a lot of measuring and guessing to figure out a comfortable size for his ears (I actually made them shorter than they should be). Another one also went past the original dimensions... if you've seen the IG stories you probably already know that another anemo boy has joined the army. Luckily, I was able to fit his hat okay-ish so it's not as terrible as Tighnari's. I originally only wanted to stick to four per element but I gave in to peer pressure
(；・∀・) His came out really well though. His colour scheme of yellow/white/and blues has me in a tight grip. It might be my favourite out of this whole lot. For his alt expression, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do the blep, since his iconic one usually includes his hand... I was going to do another blushing expression, but I knew that Wanderer lovers would probably enjoy seeing his unique points be represented instead. I think choosing this one instead of the blushing one better encapsulates his personality as a whole.
(To be real for a sec, I wasn't entirely feeling it to draw them. Not to say I didn't want to. I do, but more like I wanted to draw them sometime next year. Ah, maybe I'll talk about this more some other time. I think I can write a whole letter about this topic alone.)
Gacha??? After much deliberation, I've decided that all 2.5" versions of the genshin bros charms will now be gacha! What reasons for it? I've always intended this series to be only the tasseled versions but I knew that they weren't exactly the most practical. Like, even I wouldn't attach one to my backpack. They're very much for decorative purposes only. By them (the 2.5" versions) being gacha, they're still available to purchase, but I don't have to spend as much time/attention to them as I would with the tasseled charms (like taking inventory lol-), and I can bring less for cons. I'm actually quite excited since I will be building (attempting to) a coin-operated Gashapon machine. I was looking at some online, but none of the smaller machines hold 65mm capsules which I need to hold the charms. I could just put slips of paper into smaller capsules but I feel it loses the excitement of 'gashaponing' if I do. It's a lot more exciting to get the prize right out of the machine, right?
I'm also frugal. AHAHAHAHA. But I like the challenge and I'd like to build one myself. I've already been building some recycled capsules! I was going to buy plastic ones but I figured that wasn't the best practice, and asking for capsules back kinda diminishes the gashapon experience for the player (×﹏×) I hope you guys don't mind it's not made of fancier paper. I was thinking of doing it, but I rather reuse paper;; Reuse, reduce, recycle, folks!
Let's hope I can see this little DIY project through. My biggest fear is that it breaks the day the con happens (wouldn't be the first time something I made broke during a con) QAQ Image links: [REDACTED]
Additional Notes: - I spent a good 5-30 minutes trying to get Tighnari's name right when he first came out. I'm sure I'm not saying his name 100% right still, but it's a lot better than what I first thought it was supposed to sound like ꒡ꆚ꒡ - Nahida will now be available as a medium print (FINALLY). I actually just forgot to print her on my last run orz - Speaking of which, all large sizes will now be available in medium at cons as well. I've realized that more and more people are running out of wall space (″ロ゛) - Heh, y'all are lucky. I haven't uploaded these designs ANYWHERE asides from here. You guys are the first to see them in HD. Isn't that cool? - TOUCHSTARVED HIT THEIR KICKSTARTER STRETCH GOALS AND IT'S GONNA BE AVAILABLE ON THE SWITCH NOW WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I never talked about it before, but I really like the game (Kuras (/ε＼*)). I backed it up on Kickstarter at the speed of light after playing the demo. It speaks to me on a spiritual level (I looked at the team behind it and realized why. it truly is a game for the girls, gays, and non-het/cis babes). I'm glad it's available on the Switch since Steam usually runs sales. Unless it's available on their own website then maybe I'll choose that one instead. I like Steam but I don't like that I technically don't actually own the game. Does that make sense? Also, an excuse to actually use my Switch. - Listening to Hairspray's soundtrack rn. It's such a classic. - I wanted to say a lot more, but if I make it too long, you guys probably will drop it mid-way... is this too long still?
